The CBHA is a ground breaking initiative for strengthening the coordination and capacity of the NGO sector to deliver appropriate, high quality, and quicker humanitarian assistance to populations affected by disaster.
The consortium consists of eighteen NGOs who have committed to implementing activities which support this objective.
The CBHA received an initial two year funding of £8,000,000 from DFID (Department for International Development) for various streams of work. The longer term vision is to work with more donors to increase the size of the emergency response fund and be able to provide more assistance to more communities, to save lives and help them recover from disasters.
